| And I don't think you will be upset with either. the glass you carry seems to have more impact on whether you get the shot you are going for vs the body. I wanted a fast (wide aperature, or low F#) long zoom lens for shooting moving objects (cars) from a distance (off track). I was looking at an 80-200 F1.8 nikkor for ~$1000. My wife talked me into buying a more versatile 50mm 1.6 and slower super zoom tamron 18-270. Keep in mind I'm not much of a photographer, so results may very, but I really missed the wider aperture when I was shooting race cars at tsubuka. The only other piece of advice is to look at the crop factor for whichever bodies you are considering. mine is around 1.5 so my 270mm has an effective zoom of like 450mm, but I lose some range on the ultra-wide end.
